Carol Schrader BIO

My artistic practice includes painting, sculpture, and fiber arts, exploring connections between mythology and contemporary issues. I teach art at El Camino Real middle school In Santa Fe. Arts education brings together my passions for creating community and working for social justice.

Previously I taught writing and ESL courses at Santa Fe Community College. I hold an AFA in Studio Arts and MA in Multicultural Education, UNM, and a BA in Government, Harvard.

Living in community has been a lifelong practice, and for the past two decades I’ve lived in the Commons co-housing community where I raised my daughter. I grew up in Los Angeles at the beach and love water, these days swimming local lakes and inner tubing in the Rio Grande.
